How To Make Viral Croissant Chocolate Chip Cookie Dessert
I used store bought croissants that I found reduced to clear as they were use by that day, making them perfect to turn into crookies as they would be given a second life by being baked in the oven again.
For the cookie dough, you can buy cookie dough at the store or make your own, which was my choice in this instance.
My cookie dough recipe combined together the following ingredients:
- 100g/3.5oz Unsalted Butter
- 1/3 to 1/2 Cup Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- 1 Egg
- Pinch of Sea Salt
- 1 Cup Plain Flour
- 100g/3.5oz Chocolate Chips
To make the cookie dough, melt the butter, then pour it into a large bowl.
Mix through the sugar, vanilla, egg and salt until well combined, then add the flour and mix until just starting to come together to form a cookie dough, then add the chocolate chips and give the mixture a final stir until you have the perfect chocolate chip cookie dough.
Once you’ve prepared the cookie dough, it’s simply a matter of slicing open the croissants, filling and topping them with the dough, then baking until gooey, golden brown and done to your liking.
These are incredibly rich, it took us each about a day to slowly work through the gooey, buttery, chocolatey treat that’s a decadent way to use up day or more old croissants.
