Chocolate Mascarpone Mousse
This chocolate mascarpone mousse recipe has only 3 ingredients and makes a rich, creamy dessert.
I love infusing desserts with mascarpone cheese, the Italian cheese creates such luxuriously creamy treats that are simply irresistible. (For more mascarpone inspiration, here’s a lemon mascarpone mousse for you.)
You can make the decadent dessert for a special occasion, Valentine’s Day or just to treat yourself to an incredible sweet treat.
How To Make The Easy Chocolate Treat

To make the mascarpone chocolate mousse, start by gathering your 3 ingredients:
- 100g/3.5oz Dark Chocolate
- 1 Cup Heavy Cream
- 1/2 Cup Mascarpone Cheese
Start by melting the chocolate, which you can do either in the microwave in 30 second bursts until melted or using a double boiler method, where you bring a little bit of water up to the boil in a small saucepan and then carefully place a heatproof bowl over the simmering water and then place the chocolate in the bowl, stirring continuously until melted.

I’ve used dark chocolate chips, but you can feel free to swap for chopped dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate or any chocolate you’d like instead.
Once the chocolate has melted, set it aside to cool slightly, while you see to the cream.

Pour the heavy cream into a second large bowl and whisk using an electric mixer until soft peaks form and you have light whipped cream. You can use heavy cream, heavy whipping cream, double cream or any other cream that you can whip into whipped cream.

Set the whipped cream aside and bring back the melted chocolate mixing bowl, then add in the mascarpone and whisk with the electric mixer until you have a smooth and creamy chocolate mixture.

Fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mascarpone mixture, about a third at a time, until you have a creamy chocolate mousse.
Move the dessert into a serving bowl or individual bowls, place it into the fridge for a few hours to set and enjoy. You can top your bowl with more whipped cream or fresh berries if you’d like.
