Chocolate Banana Brownies
These chocolate banana brownies are a brilliant and indulgent way to enjoy ripe bananas in an easy homemade dessert.
They are a fun to dessert to make an a unique way to enjoy the delicious chocolate banana flavour combination.
How To Make The Easy Homemade Brownies
Start by gathering the simple ingredients for the easy recipe:
- 150g/5.3oz Unsalted Butter
- 150g/5.3oz Chocolate
- 1-2 Bananas
- 1/2 Cup Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1 Cup Plain Flour
Get the oven preheating to 180C/350F and line a square baking tin with well greased baking paper, so that it’s ready to go when you’re ready to fill your tin with brownie batter.
Melt the butter and chocolate together in a small saucepan on the stove top or in the microwave in 30 second bursts, stirring regularly until both are melted.
You can use any chocolate you’d like, I’ve gone for 70% dark chocolate because we prefer decadent dark chocolate treats, but you could swap for milk chocolate instead.
Once the butter and chocolate have melted, set them aside to cool slightly while you get to work mashing your bananas in a large bowl until fully mashed, smooth and creamy.
Pour the melted chocolate and butter mixture over the mashed bananas and mix until well combined.
Then it’s simply a matter of adding on the remaining ingredients of sugar, vanilla and flour and mixing until you have a dark, fudgy brownie batter. I’ve used caster sugar in the simple recipe, but you can feel free to swap for regular white sugar or brown sugar instead.
These brownies are also eggless, so are a little on the soft side, if you’d prefer a more rigid, well formed brownie dessert then feel free to add 2 eggs to the batter.
With brownies you want to mix until everything is just combined together, and not over mix, so that you get to enjoy an end result of super moist and fudgy brownies.
Move the brownie batter to the prepared baking tin then pop in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until done to your liking, with the less cooking time resulting in softer, fudgier brownies and a longer baking time resulting in a more cake like texture.
Once the brownies have baked, remove them from the oven, allow them to cool to room temperature in the baking tin, then remove and cut into bite sized brownies, I cut mine into 16 brownie pieces.
Store any leftover brownies in an airtight container to enjoy within a couple of days – if they last that long.
